Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is my journal data secure?

Your entries are stored in your browser's local storage, which means they are saved on your computer or device and are not transmitted over the internet or stored on our servers. This makes them private to your device and browser session. However, anyone with access to your browser on that device could potentially see them if they know where to look (though it's not straightforward for a non-technical user).

Can I access my journal entries from another computer or browser?

No. Because the data is stored in local storage, it is specific to the browser and device you used to make the entries. It does not automatically sync across devices.

What happens if I clear my browser's cache or local storage?

If you clear your browser's local storage for this website, all your saved journal entries will be permanently deleted from that browser. There is no way to recover them through this tool once cleared from local storage.

Is there a limit to how much I can write or how many entries I can save?

Local storage has a size limit (typically around 5-10MB per website, depending on the browser). While text entries are usually small, very extensive journaling over a long period could eventually reach this limit. The tool itself doesn't impose a character limit per entry.
